two sons, Scott and Kris are exceptionally talented artists, and I am
very proud of them. So here is a little info about their work and links to their sites: Interactive Art by Scott Snibbe My work explores how seemingly independent phenomena are, upon analysis, actually interdependent with their environments. I portray this interdependence by creating works that do not function unless viewers actively engage with them—by touching, breathing, moving, etc.—so that viewers are essential to the work’s existence as art. Furthermore, although the works involve significant technological infrastructure, viewers’ experiences typically occur in the realm of human-to-human interactions. [An excerpt from his Artist's Statement] http://snibbe.com/ Scott's Company, Snibbe Interactive: Snibbe Interactive creates personalized interactive experiences for museums, entertainment and branding that produce powerful emotional responses, engaging social spaces, and social networking opportunities. People use their whole bodies to interact with our immersive products in a process that is as engaging as a movie — yet one in which people actively participate with their bodies and with their friends. The unique digital artifacts people create in our experiences can then be shared online in the next step for social networking: personalized media. http://snibbeinteractive.com Kris Snibbe photographer A camera can be a periscope that simultaneously views one's heart and the outside world. With a motivation to photograph with a feeling of universal compassion combined with an instinct for geometry, the best you see in others becomes organized in a way that can sometimes penetrate the heart and mind of the person viewing the photograph. For me, photography is a way of learning, communicating and phrasing questions that culminate in a fraction of a second. http://krissnibbe.com/ |
